The Skinny on The Benefit

The "Totally Awesome 80's Benefit & Silent Auction" is an event designed to help Jeff "Moose" Patterson and his family with medical bills and other necessities while Moose is undergoing treatment for advanced pancreatic cancer.  The benefit will be held on Saturday evening, November 8th, 2008, at The Velvet Elvis in Milledgeville, GA.  (A big thanks goes out to CJ Hicks and Paul Findlay for graciously agreeing to host our event at their restaurant, and for offering to donate a portion of all food and beverage sales to the cause!)

Doors will open at 6 PM for the party, and a cover charge is required to enter:  $3 if dressed in 80's attire; $5 if you didn't have time to hit the Goodwill Store on your way downtown.  100% of the door fees will go to Moose and his family.

Though the downstairs portion of the restaurant will be open to regular dinner customers, the back deck and upstairs portion of the building will be reserved for our private event from 6 PM until close.  The Velvet Elvis offers a full dinner menu as well as a full bar, and we encourage everyone to take full advantage of both (on your own dime, of course).  Moose receives a portion of the proceeds from all food and beverage sales, so this is no time to go on the wagon or start a diet, people!

Bidding on Silent Auction items will open at 6 PM sharp and conclude at approximately 10 PM.  (Cash and check will be the only accepted forms of payment for the auction items -- no credit or debit cards please since we've got no way to process them.)

We are currently accepting items for the auction, so please let us know if you have something that you would like to donate.  Also, if you know of anyone who owns/works for a company that would be open to donating something, we would greatly appreciate your help in securing an item from them.

Please visit the Silent Auction page to see a current list of donated items or to send a note informing a Mooseketeer of a donation that you have secured.
